Today is Arbor Day! If you plan to celebrate by planting a tree or trees, keep this tip from BrightView Landscapes in mind: It’s a good idea to plant smaller, slow-growing trees. Smaller trees cost less than larger trees, allowing you to purchase more for the same amount of money. Smaller, sturdier trees are also less susceptible to the elements and possible storm damage. Trees like the twilight crape myrtle, tabebuia, laurel oak, dwarf magnolia and the hydrangea grow well in the Florida heat and yield beautiful blooming flowers. (Dwarf Magnolia image)
